Copper is the earliest known metal that was used by humankind. As early as the late the Neolithic Age, ancient people discovered natural copper which has a golden color and luster and high ductility. They cherished the metal and made small adornments or knives with it. Unfortunately,
copper is not hard enough to be applied extensively. Later on, people mastered the technology to smelt copper from ore and add appropriate stannum or plumbum into it to increase its hardness and decrease its melting point. Thus, the processed metal, easier to be founded and resistant to abrasiveness, can be used in manufacturing production instruments, household utensils and weaponry. It is now what we call bronze.
